Castle Match - a match 3 puzzle game

So, there are like hundreds and thousands of match-3 mobile games out there, and you might be thinking, "Why should I bother trying this one?" 

Well, we've had the same doubts, to be honest. As a start-up, we've struggled for a whole year trying to make a decent game – a match-3 puzzle combined with castle decorating. How do we make it more interesting? Along the way, we had to let go of countless ideas and say goodbye to some of our dear colleagues (budget constraints, you know!). It's safe to say that our game draws inspiration from the likes of Candy Crush and Royal Match – and honestly, many others do too. Innovating these days is no piece of cake!

For our main character, we went with a classic choice - a blonde Princess. Super cliché, right? But as we delved into her story and added more details, this "typical Disney" princess started coming to life, becoming vivid and relatable. It's kind of like how Barbie became down-to-earth after her big revelation. We could imagine our Princess dancing through the halls of her grand castle, sneaking out at night to hunt for hidden treasures, and enjoying a pleasant afternoon tea in the sunroom. On sunny days, when she's in a great mood, maybe she'll take her vintage pink Ford for a spin around the castle (who doesn't love pink?). What makes it different is that there's no king, queen, or prince in our story, and we're totally cool with that. Our Princess is independent and perfectly content living on her own. 

Alright, let's zoom back in on the topic of creating a decent and "brand new" game. When it comes to the gameplay itself, truth be told, most of it still follows the traditional match-3 style. But we've spiced things up with some exciting twists.

First of all, we've taken a brave leap with our "Giant Elements" (or maybe "boss levels"). We haven't seen anything like this in other match-3 games. In these levels, the elements (obstacles to overcome) that users have encountered before suddenly become larger and more challenging. For example, if you've come across shelves filled with donuts, these new shelves will have more donuts and take up more space on the board. To conquer these tougher and more enjoyable puzzles, you'll need to be strategic – which is incredibly satisfying, especially for those who enjoy a good challenge.

But that's not all! We've also introduced PST (Poison TNT) and the Magic Cube, upgraded versions of the original TNT (bomb) and Magic Ball. If you've played any match-3 game before, you know exactly what bombs and chocolate balls (hello, Candy Crush!) do. Our PST and Magic Cube take the boosters to a whole new level, doubling their effects. These special items will randomly appear during gameplay, adding an element of surprise and making it easier or smoother for some users. Nothing beats a little uncertainty to make a game more interesting, right?
